DMCH autopsy report says it suicide, family rejects it

The parents and the relatives of Shamaruf Mahjabin Kona have rejected the post-mortem report released on Sunday afternoon and said that the report had been managed. They again claimed that it was a case of homicide.
According to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital’s post-mortem report, Shamaruf Mahjabin Kona, daughter-in-law of former ruling Awami League MP Khan Tipu Sultan from Jessore-5 constituency committed suicide on November 13.
Kona, 24, wife of Sadab Sultan, son of Tipu Sultan, was found hanging in her room on November 13. She was a student of Holy Family Medical College. Tipu Sultan claimed that Kona committed suicide hanging herself in her room
Following the incident, Mahjabin’s father Nurul Islam filed a case against Tipu Sultan, MP, his wife and Mahjabin’s husband Sadab Sultan who is now in jail.
The Tipu Sultan and his wife are on bail, police sources said. Abu Bakkar Siddique, Officer-in-Charge at Dhanmondi Police Station confirmed the matter.
