Country’s largest Eid Jamaat held at Sholakia ignoring rain

After two years, the country’s biggest Eid Jamaat was again held at historic Sholakia Eidgah ground in Kishoreganj town .
Ignoring the heavy rain that started at 8am on Tuesday thousands of worshipers took part the prayer in Sholakia field.
At least 3.50 lakh devotees have taken part in the Eid-ul-Fitr prayers in this year’s Jamaat.
 Islamic scholar Hafez Maulana Shoaib- bin – Rab, led the 195th congregation of Eid-ul-Fitr which started at 10 am. At the end of the prayers, special prayer offered for the unity, peace and prosperity of the Muslim Ummah.
The Sholakia Eidgah ground was filled to the brim before 9 am.
 In the midst of tight security, the worshipers entered the ground and took part in the congregation. After two years of congregation in Sholakia, many worshipers stood in the streets around the field and offered prayers.
Thousands of devotees from different districts came to Sholakia to perform prayers.
Since the militant attack in 2016, the security arrangements of Sholakia have Special security measures. After two years of being a Eid -Jamaat, more security measures were taken this time. RAB members were on duty with sniping rifles at the two watch towers. The other four Watch Towers were staffed by police. Several police camera drones flew in the sky under surveillance. Mine sweeping and bomb disposal teams were deployed, and the entire field and surrounding area was monitored by CCTV cameras.
As is customary, six empty shots of a shotgun were fired before the congregation began. Three minutes before the start of the congregation, three, three minutes before the start and one minute before the start of the prayer signal is given.
Sr.Police Super (SP) in Kishoreganj Mashrukur Rahman Khaled BPM Bar told the New Nation that, The entire field was searched again since morning. We had 32 security checkpoints in the town, there were four levels of security in Sholakia, at least 1400 police personnel, 5 platoons BGB, RAB, Ansar members along with strict security belt as well as members of various intelligence agencies patrolled the field in white. We are very happy to be able to finish such a large congregation without any problems. ‘
