Sell pressure ceases positive wave on stock market

BSS, Dhaka :
Sell pressure halted the positive wave on Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) to end the week in red.
The market saw upbeat in the past two trading sessions, but ended in the negative tone due to sell pressure for profit-booking.
The DSEX index of DSE experienced remarkable ups and downs during the week before closing at 4984.46, marginally below its comfortable 5000-point position.

The week saw significant movements by the investors mostly around mid and micro cap scrips when larger issues experienced volatility.
Participation of investors during week rose occasionally as many were taking the advantage of price fall in the last few trading sessions that made a large number of scrips cheaper.
Some encouraging quarterly declaration and the news about soaring number of BO accounts also influenced the market and helped restore confidence of investors, but the higher profit-booking selling finally brought the market in the negative territory.
