The Jahangirnagar University (JU) authorities concerned have taken a decision to reopen the residential halls for students by October 11.
According to the decision, all dormitories of the university will be reopened on October 11 and classes will resume from October 21.
The JU authorities took the decision at a virtual syndicate meeting chaired by vice-chancellor Professor Dr Farzana Islam held on Saturday night.
Syndicate member and JU Treasurer Professor Dr Rasheda Akter confirmed the matter.
The academic classes will be taken both online and in-person. The central library would also be reopened for students, said Professor Akter.
Earlier on Wednesday, the JU Academic Council recommended reopening the university’s residential halls from October 21.
