Actress Anjana tells women to stay inside after daylight
Entertainment Report :
National Film Award-winning noted actress Anjana Sultana made headlines when she asked women to stay at home after daylight, during a press briefing held by Bangladesh Film Artistes’ Association recently. In a recent interview with local media, she doubled down on her previous remarks and repeatedly asked all women to refrain from going outside after the daylight dies down.
“Of course I said what I said. Even when a woman has to go outside after evening, she should take a friend or relative with her. I am not asking women to quit their jobs, I am just telling them to avoid going outside at night. There was a time in our neighbouring country India when I could go outside in the evening and do my
shopping during the vacations. Those days are gone. Women aren’t safe anywhere. Women who are bankers, teachers or
garments workers, they obviously don’t need to work at night,” the actress said and adding, “Even if they need to go outside, they must take their friends with them.” Anjana got the National Film Award for Best Actress for her role in
film Parineeta in 1986.
