Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh said that the dengue situation is not out of control. The situation is still under control compared to dengue in 2019.
He made this remarks at a meeting in the Mayor Mohammad Hanif Auditorium at the DSCC’s Nagar Bhaban on Sunday afternoon. I have already discussed the councilors regarding the matter.
Even after that we have taken all kinds of preparations. More vigorous activities will be taken to eradicate mosquitoes from tomorrow (Monday).
Each ward will be identified as a small area now. Executive magistrates, councilors and mosquito supervisors will conduct raids in these areas. Besides, a control room will be set up at Nagar Bhaban on Monday to monitor the dengue situation, mayor added.
However, there are more Aedes mosquitoes in the government housing of DSCC area,” said Mayor Tapas. Aedes breeding is more in these habitats.
Therefore, the concerned have been instructed in this regard.
Hopefully, we will be able to bring the mosquitoes under control before August 15.
Meanwhile, Dhaka North City Mayor Atiqul Islam said that spontaneous participation of people from all classes of life is needed to control Aedes mosquitoes, dengue and chikungunya.
He was speaking as the chief guest at a campaign to eradicate Aedes mosquito and chikungunya in the area of Gausul Azam Avenue at Sector 12 and 13 of Uttara in the city on Sunday.
