New policy framework introduced in local administration

Gazi Anowar

Recently, the local administration introduced a new policy framework to enhance governance and public service delivery. The initiative, which was announced earlier this week, focuses on streamlining administrative processes and ensuring greater transparency and accountability in public offices.

The new policy framework includes several key measures designed to improve efficiency and responsiveness. Among these are the implementations of digital tools for better record-keeping and communication, as well as the establishment of a more robust feedback mechanism to address public grievances promptly.

Officials have emphasized that the policy is part of a broader effort to modernize the local administration and make it more citizen-centric. By adopting innovative approaches and leveraging technology, the administration aims to reduce bureaucratic delays and improve the overall quality of services provided to the public.

The announcement has been met with a positive response from various stakeholders, including community leaders and civil society organizations. Many have expressed hope that the new measures will lead to a more efficient and transparent administration, ultimately benefiting the citizens.

As the local administration moves forward with the implementation of this new policy framework, it is expected that regular updates and progress reports will be shared with the public to ensure ongoing engagement and accountability.

This initiative marks a significant step towards achieving a more effective and responsive local governance system, aligning with the broader goals of sustainable development and good governance.

State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain Told The New Nation that many officials are not complying with transfer or posting orders issued by the ministry. Recently, several officials have been punished for defying transfer orders. However, considering the overall circumstances of some officers, their transfer orders have been revoked. Once this policy is finalized, it will be easier to bring officials under the rules.
