35 fortune seekers held, broker detained

Chittagong Bureau :
Police detained 35 Malaysia-bound fortune seekers from Chittagong Railway Station area of the port city on Sunday evening .
At the same police managed to apprehend the agent of the fortune seekers named Md. Edrish. Details of the detainees could not be known immediately but the detained said they hail from Jessore district.
 Sub Inspector of Chandgaon thana Nurul Islam confirmed the arrest of the illegal aspirants of Malaysia.
Police sources said broker Edrish came to Bahaddarhat bus station for hiring a two microbus who was rounded up police instantly acting on secret information of carrying the fortune seekers to Teknaf area through micro bus. Over the confession the broker Edrish, police rounded up the fortune seekers from Rail station who were gathered at rail station after arrival from Dhaka for onward journey to Teknaf.
Police sources said these fortune seekers were supposed to voyage to Malaysia on that night from Teknaf. Case under process against the broker before the concerned thana, sources said.
Unauthorised installations evicted: Chittagong Metropolitan police evicted floating vender, makeshifts of shops, illegal installations and hawkers from Tigerpass to Shah Amanat bridge on Sunday.
 The eviction drive conducted from 10 am upto 2 pm. City police made wide publicity to remove the illegal installations and hawkers etc from the footpaths by miking from Thursday last. Meanwhile CMP police conducted raid in Tigerpass, Isphani Crossing, WASA Crossing, Dampara, GEC circle, No.2 gate area, Murabpur, Bahadarhat, one kilometer , Rahatarpool, Kalamia Bazar , and Shah amanat bridge circle .
 CMP authority enforced this eviction drive aimed at easy movement of vehicles and pedestrians in the city and to avoid the traffic congestion.
CMP sources said this drive will contine for next few days to evict the illegal possessions of the govt and encroaching the footpaths .
