Preparations afoot to celebrate Eid-ul-Azha

The concerned authorities have been working sincerely to complete necessary preparations for holding the Eid-ul-Azha congregations at over 1,000 eidgahs and mosques in the district on the Eid day.
According to official sources, Rangpur City Corporation (RCC), district administration and Islamic Foundation Bangladesh (IFB) have completed necessary preparations to hold the main Eid jamat at Rangpur Collectorate Eidgah in the city at 9 am.
City Mayor Alhaj Sarfuddin Ahmed Jhantu, Divisional Commissioner Dilwar Bakht, Acting Deputy Inspector General Humayun Kabir, Deputy Commissioner Farid Ahammad, Police Super Abdur Razzaque, high officials, political leaders, public representatives, academicians, professionals and elite of the city are expected to participate in the main congregation.
However, the main Eid congregation will be held at historical Keramotia Jam-e-Mosque in the city if the weather remains unfavorable on the Eid day, the sources said.
The biggest Eid congregation will be held at Taluk Habu Eidgah Maidan under Gangachara upazila in the district, where over one lakh musollis are expected to take part in the Eid prayers there like the previous years.
The major Eid jamats will be held at Police Line Ground, Munshipara Eidgah, Zila School, Koilash Ranjan School Ground, Hajipara Ground, Medical College, Kamal Kachhna Eidgah, Bahar Kachhna Eidgah, RCCI School & College, Collectorate School and College and Carmichael College in the city.
Besides, bigger Eid-ul-Azha jamats will be held at Keramotia Jam-e-Mosque, Nasirabad Ekramia Jam-e-Mosque, Khasbag Angur Mian Jame Mosque, Paschim Khasbag Charmatha Jame Mosque, Mulatol Madrasa and Munshipara Eidgah.
Bigger congregations will also be held at Dhap Mohammadpur Jam- e Mosque, Sadar Hospital Jam-e Mosque, Shalban Mistripara Ground, Damodarpur Baroi Eidgah Ground and Damodarpur Chhoto Eidgah Ground, Alamnagar Wakf Mosque, Keramotia Madrasa, Khasbag Jam-e Mosque, Mirbag Ramchandrapur Jam-e Mosque, Central Bus Terminal Jam-e Mosque, Satmatha Jam-e Mosque, Nachnia Jam-e Mosque and Mahiganj College Ground between 7.30 am and 10 am.
In addition to this, bigger Eid-ul-Azha jamats will be held at Badarganj Keramotia Chandamari Jam-e Mosque, Pirgachha Karbala Eidgah, Pirgachha JN High School, Pirgachha Ahle Hadith Mosque, Satdorgah Mosque, Parul Chechakandi Orphanage Ground, Kishamat Bishu Manjai Eidgah Maidan and Alambiditor Paikan Baro Jam-e Mosque outside the city.
The other Eid-ul-Azha jamats will be held on the Eidgahs, mosques and grounds in the rural areas in all eight upazilas of Rangpur between 8 am and 10.30am.
Thousands of Muslim devotees will offer special prayers seeking divine blessings for continued peace, progress and prosperity of the country, its people and Muslim Ummah during the Eid congregations.
Police control room sources said special security measures have already been taken for peaceful holding of the Eid-ul-Azha congregations in the district.
