Russia`s involvement in Palestinian issue must be welcome

RUSSIA on Thursday said it would be a “mistake” to think lasting peace in the Middle East could be achieved without resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Moscow in a statement has doubted any chance for peace after Israel signed a normalisation treaty with UAE and Bahrain at White House on Tuesday.
Moscow’s call for renewed diplomatic efforts by Quartet of Middle East peace negotiators to ramp up coordinated efforts to achieve a lasting peace.
The US is not the only power which can decide the fate of the Palestinians, but the Palestinians depended on US leadership for a solution. Some US presidents tried hard for a peaceful settlement of the Palestinian statehood but could not do enough for the Jewish lobby in the United States.
The OIC and the Arab league including many other Muslim countries hoped and relied on role of the USA. It is becoming clear that President Trump is interested in winning the election and for that support of the Jewish voters was his priority. Israel is maintaining cotton of Middle East for US. Without US involvement peaceful solution is unthinkable. But the present US policy is making peace in Middle East complicated.
It is suggested that to stop further annexation of the Palestinian territory, the two countries’ joined efforts condition that Israel will suspend the plan for annexation. Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel simply cannot be trusted. That is at the root of the crisis.
Now we shall see Russia’s influence will increase. A dimension has been created in the Middle East power game. Trump has said that similar US-brokered deals are ready for signing up between Israel and several other Arab countries including Saudi Arabia. Earlier Egypt and Jordan had signed similar normalisation treaty with Israel in 1979 and 1994.
Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas sees the normalisation as stabbing from the back. Many other countries like Iran, Qatar, Turkey and Kuwait have also rightly denounced the normalisation at the cost of Palestinian cause as a betrayal to Arab cause and warned of serious consequences.
These types of threats were made in the past also. But these proved empty for failure of active leadership for the statehood of Palestine.
We urge the Palestinian leadership to forget terrorism and behave like state. You cannot dive the problem as terrorists. Show statesmanship. Russia’s interest must be welcome when US is so much one-sided and Israel is so much power-drunk.
