Virtual courts grant bail to 3633 accused on Monday

A total of 3633 people accused in criminal cases secured bail on Monday from virtual courts across the country, including Dhaka.
The courts granted them bail after holding hearings on the petitions through video conference, said a press release sent by Md Saifur Rahman, Special Officer of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court.
Saifur Rahman said that 5730 bail applications were heard by the courts after those had been filed through emails on Monday in the district and sessions judges’ courts across the country and 3633 persons got bail.
Countrywide Online courts started proceedings on a limited scale on May 11, but the court started to grant bail on May 12.
