Joj Mia’s mother, sister testified

The defense lawyers cross-examined Jobeda Khatun, mother of Joj Mia, in the August 21 grenade attack cases in the makeshift court set up in front of the Dhaka Central Jail on Monday.
Earlier, on September 8, she testified in the cases but the lawyers did not cross-examine her on the day for want of time.
Joj Mia’s sister Khorsheda Akhter also testified in presence of Joj Mia. They were brought to the court to testify in the court of Dhaka’s first Speedy Trial Tribunal-1.
At least 24 people, including Awami League women front’s President Ivy Rahman, were killed and over one hundred, including incumbent Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, then the leader of the opposition, were injured in the attack at a rally of Bangladesh Awami League on August 21, 2004. .
Motijheel Police filed the two cases. One of them is murder case and the other under the Explosive Act.
