44 held with illegal drugs in city

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) and Detective Branch (DB) arrested at least 44 drug traders on charges of selling and consuming drugs during the ongoing anti-narcotics drives in the capital from Monday morning to Tuesday morning.
Detective Branch of the DMP in association with the members of local police
stations of the city carried out the drives separately starting from 6:00 am on Monday.
During the drives, the law enforcers recovered 1262 pieces of Yaba, around 113 grams of heroin, one kg of hemp and 6 bottles of phensidyl, said DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media) Masudur Rahman.
A total of 33 cases were filed with different police stations under Narcotics Control Act, DC added.
