14 more killed in road crashes

Roads and Highways become the death trap for the passengers. Reckless driving continues on the streets. At least 14 persons were killed and 50 others seriously injured in separate road crashes across the country on Wednesday.
In Bandarban,at least three persons including a women were killed and five others seriously injured in a road accident when a truck rammed a local Tomtom at Paglir Aga area under Lama upazila of the district on Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Md Ibrahim, 15, of Kukukpata area, Farida Khatun, 58 and Abu Taleb, 30 of Paglir Aga area of Lama.
Local sources said that, the accident occurred when a brick-laden truck ran over a Tomtom carrying passengers in front of a rubber garden around 4:00pm, leaving them dead on the spot.
Jakir Hossain Mazumder, Chairman of Fasiakhali Union Parishad, confirmed the matter to the media.
In Noakhali, at least three persons were killed and 15 more injured when a passenger bus overturned on the Sonapur-Ramganj road in Porkot Union under the Chatkhil upazila of the district on Wednesday morning.
The identities of the deceased have not yet been known. The injured were taken to different local hospitals for treatment.

In Naogaon, two motorcyclists were killed when a truck hit them in Patnitala upazila of the district on Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Ratan, 28, and Sohel Rana, 30, inhabitants of Kusharpara village under Porsha upazila.
Patnitala Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Porimol Chakrabarty told the news to the media.
In Chandpur, two persons were killed in a road crash in Lebutola under Sadar upazila of the district on Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Rafiq Gazi, driver of the auto-rickshaw and a resident of Charpoa village in Faridganj upazila and Mozammel Hossian, son of one Shahidul Islam of Panchagarh district.
Md Nasim Uddin, Officer-in-Charge of Chandpur Model Police Station, told the matter to the media.
In Jamalpur, an youth named Mamun Miah,16, was killed when a truck rammed him in Bakshiganj of the district on Wednesday noon.
AKM Mahbub Alam, Officer-in-Charge of Bakshiganj Police Station told the matter to the media.
In Ashulia( Dhaka), an unknown person died when a bus rammed him at Jirabu area of the city on Wednesday noon.
Abdul Jajil, Sub-Inspector of Ashulia Police Station confirmed the news to the media.
In Gopalganj, a paasgenger of a local Nochimon named Rashida Begum,40, was killed when the vheeles overturned in Kotalipara upazila of the district.
