Speakers for world standard education

Speakers at a education council on Monday underlined the need of quality and world standard education to build skilled manpower to face the challenges of the 21st century.
They said, the government must take proper initiative to reform the overall situation of the country’s education system.
The speakers said this at a programme held at Sheikh Hasina Academy and Women’s College at Chakha upazila in Madaripur district with the assistance of its founder and former Communication Minister Syed Abul Hossain.
Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni was present there as the chief guest, while Deputy Commissioner of Madaripur Md Wahidul Islam presided over it.
Vice-Chancellor. of Vidyasagar University Professor Ranjan Chakrabarti spoke at the programme as the guest of honour while former Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan MP, Abdus Sobhan Golap MP, Chief Whip Nur-e-Alam Liton Chowdhury, Tahmina Siddique MP, Vice-Chancellor of National University Professor Harun-or Rashid, founding Vice-Chancellor of Barishal University Professor Harun-or-Rashid Khan and Vice-Chancellor of Rajshahi University M Abdus Sobhan addressed the function, among others.
Dr Dipu Moni said, the government is firm to ensure world standard education in the county.
“We shall definitely update the academic curriculum to build our young generation so that they can lead the whole world. We will do everything to achieve our goals,” the Minister said.
Vice-Chancellor of Vidyasagar University Professor Ranjan Chakrabarti said, no nation can prosper without proper education. So, Bangladesh must take timely decision to make its people eligible to contest with the world community.
“Bangladesh is surging ahead in all aspects. It is very much appreciable that the current government is serious for quality education,” he said.
