ACC to sue UCBL owner for money plundering

Staff Reporter :The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has decided to look into an allegation that owner of the Urban Co-operative Bank Limited Major (Retd) Selim plundered Tk 1.69 crore from his clients. ACC took the decision in a routine meeting held in the Commission Headquarters on Wednesday, said the PRO.A number of the victims lodged complaint against the retired army major, whom they trusted. The complainants say, Major Selim in collaboration with the like-minded promised a good return on their deposits.But he cheated them. The Commission has taken it into cognizance after scrutiny and decided to hold an inquiry. The anti-graft body will assign one of its official to carry out the inquiry.
