Taskin happy with his recovery so far

The national team pace-bowler Taskin Ahmed is happy with the progress of his recovery from injury. The right-arm pacer had twisted his right ankle during the last outing of his team Sylhet Sixers in the recently concluded Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) on February 1. Since then, he has been recovering from the injury.
Taskin was initially named in both the ODI and Test squad for the New Zealand tour, after performing well in the initial stages of the BPL. But now, Taskin is hopeful to make a comeback during the Super League stage of Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (DPDCL).
 “I am happy with the way of recovering. Now I can walk without any help. It is like a relief to me. I just completed three weeks. It will need more time to get fit to play cricket,” Taskin said on Sunday at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. He came to the Sher-e-Bangla to discuss his injury with the physician.
 Taskin scalped 22 wickets in the BPL. He finished the league as the second highest wicket-taker after Shakib Al Hasan who bagged 23.
“I was really confident during the BPL. The good thing is I am still confident to bowl that well. I am hopeful to return to cricket during the Super League of the DPDCL,” the pacer further said.
 “It is really tough (to suffer from several injuries) for a pace bowler. But I have nothing to do with this. I think it is a part of life. Mashrafe bhai is my role model. He struggled a lot in his career. I am strong mentally. I think I have the ability to make a comeback,” the right-arm pacer also told the reporters.
Taskin is still considered a strong contender for inclusion in Bangladesh’s World Cup squad which will be played in England from May-June this year. The 23-year-old pacer said he is confident of the same.
