Firearms, bullets seized

Detectives of Chattogram Metropolitan Police seized a firearm and five rounds of cartridges in the port city early on Tuesday.
Police, however, could not arrest anyone in this connection.
Upon receiving information, a team of detectives raided the house of one Jasim Uddin, 35, in Mogholtuli area in Chattogram and found the firearm and ammunition in an ‘almirah’ (closet), said Assistant Commissioner (AC) (West) Moinul Islam of Detective Branch.
“The suspect Jasim fled before we reached the spot,” the AC added.
The firearms and ammunition were handed over to Sadarghat Police Station and a case has been lodged in this connection.
