17 held for train tickets black marketing
A team of joint-force led by the Government Railway Police (GRP) arrested 17 people for their alleged connection with sale of advance train tickets on black market to the Eid Passengers at Kamalapur Railway Station on Monday morning, the GRP police said.
Railway Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Mazid said that the detainees were found selling tickets on black market around 9:30am. Police arrested them from the station area.
He said that the railway authority is keeping eye on the whole area with the
help of 16 close circuit cameras. The police official said that, on the second day of advance tickets’ sale, hundreds of passengers thronged the railway station for tickets of July 25.
He said that the arrested persons are being interrogated in this connection but the name of them will not to be sent to the media for technical reason.
The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), Detective Branch, (DB), Armed Police Battalion (APBn), Railway Security Forces and Ansar operated the drive around 9:30am, the OC said.
