The 5 day long ‘9th Oath Camp 2018’ for newly enrolled Rovers of Daffodil International University (DIU) Air Rover Scout Group ended with ‘Grand Camp Fire’ at permanent campus of the university at Ashulia, Savar recently. Md. Anowarul Islam Shikder, National Commissioner (Land) of Bangladesh Scouts was present as the chief guest at the Grand Camp Fire while Monjurul Alam, Deputy Director of Bangladesh Scouts was present as the chief guest. The Grand Camp Fire was also addressed by Girls in Rover Unit Leader Rover Trainer Farhana Rahman Setu, PRS and RSL Shaiful Islam Khan, DIU Air Rover Scout Group. The camp included Training, Oath Taking Ceremony, Social Awareness and Development Program and Grand Camp Fire.
A total of 60 Rovers and Girls in Rover including12 Rovers from Daffodil International College Air Rover Scout Unit and 4 Rover Scout Leaders are participating in this Camp. Senior Rover Mate Jui Roy and Nazmul Hassan provided overall assistant to organize the camp.
Addressing as the chief guest Md. Anowarul Islam Shikder said, ‘Camp Fire’ is very important and historical event for a Scout which inspire rovers to engage them in scouting through self adaption of mind. He advised the rovers to maintain and follow the rules and ideas of Baden Powell to create a beautiful world.
He appreciated the recent activities done by the Rovers of Daffodil International University and suggested to keep up the speed. He also said, introducing Rover Movement at the university, Daffodil International University has set an example to be followed by other private universities.
