44 rivers register rise, 33 fall

Water levels in 44 river stations monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rise and 33 stations recorded fall.
Among the 83 monitored water level stations, five river stations have been registered steady while three are flowing above their respective danger marks, a bulletin issued by FFWC said on Monday.
The Old Surma at Deraj, the Teesta at Dalia and the Kansha at Jaraijanjail are flowing above their respective danger levels by 52 cm, 6 cm and 47 cm.
All the major river systems are in rising trend.
Significant rainfall was recorded in some stations in different districts during the last 24 hours ending at 6 am on Monday.
A total of 51 mm were recorded at Sheola and 48 mm at Sunamganj.
