Conspiracy continues to destroy AL
Former and incumbent leaders of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) said here BNP-Jamaat and militants clique have been hatching conspiracy to destroy the ruling Awami League.
They made the remarks on Saturday at a discussion held at central office of the BCL marking the day of killing of its eight leaders. They also demanded exemplary punishment to killers. “Jamaat-Shibir clique has been hatching conspiracy to make Bangladesh a failed state through mass killings and their patron is BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia,” said ex-BCL leader and Publicity and Publication Secretary of AL Dr Hasan Mahmud. “BNP leader became insane over the AL government’s success in resolving the long standing maritime boundary problems with neighbouring India and Myanmar through tremendous diplomatic efforts,” he said.
“The past governments could not mach with the height of development during the regime of the immediate past AL government, as development in such scale had not been made by any others government,” he also said.
With BCL president HM Bodiuzzaman Sohag in the chair, the meeting was discussed by among others, executive members of central AL Aminul Islam Amin, BCL ex-president Bahadur Bepari, former vice-presidents Shajada Mohiuddin and Zahiruddin Mahmud Liton, general secretary Siddique Nazmul Alam and office secretary Sheikh Russell.
On this day in 2000, eight BCL leaders were gunned down in Chittagong.
