Why did Brazil fail to win? :
There is no surprise that Brazil once again failed to win Hexa. Even the majority Brazilians think that Brazil have not that zeal and capacity required to capture their sixth world title, otherwise known as Hexa. The main reason of abortion time and again, experts say, is that the European based players, wo are majority in the squad, are not so sincere unlike their home-based players.
Brazil won three world crowns in 12 years i.e. in 1958, 1962 and 1970. They again cruised into the final thrice in a row in 1994, 1998 and 2002, becoming champions twice. No other countries have such amazing records. The reason of success was that the coaches preferred home based players in team selection. Garrincha, Pele, Zagalo, Dilmar, Zito, Didi, Vava, Amarildo and their near equals never played in the European leagues.
They loved their country more than they hankered after anything. What Neymar did in the Russia World Cup, no European coach will choose him for any tournament. He is more a joker than a footballer. On joining Paris St German on record $222 million transfer fee, he asked the team management to sell Uruguayan star Cavani. It is because he does not like his rival in the squad. In truth, a player who sold himself to wealth should not exult and contempt teammate.
To many, Neymar is more a joker than a player. His behaviour surprises me, as it is he who guided Brazil two years ago to win the first ever gold in the Olympic Football tournament. As such, how does a player forget his identity within two years?
Brazil footballers are shy to take shots into the opponents’ goal posts. They may take lessons from French stars Pogba and Mbappee who scored two amazing goals from outside the penalty area against Croatia. Unless they improve their shooting power, they can’t secure their sixth world title.
