Law career workshop held at CU

The Bangladesh Chapter of Network for International Law Students (NILS) yesterday organised a law career workshop in Bangladesh exclusively with internship opportunity, titled as ‘Career opportunity: Way to thriving legal industry’, in association with Department of Law, University of Chittagong (CU), at A K Khan Law Faculty Auditorium .
More than 500 enthusiastic law students from 25 different universities of Bangladesh attended the workshop.
The workshop was auspicated by the welcoming speech of Ms. Nasrin Sultana, President of NILS Bangladesh, who warmly welcomed the participants of the workshop & presented the glance view of the past activities of NILS and clarified about its aims & objectives as well.
Following the inauguration ceremony, two sessions of the workshop were held. The first session was composed of lectures by distinguished guest speakers of the workshop, Md. MasdarHossain, Senior District & Sessions Judge (Rtd), Manzur Al Matin, media person & news presenter Channel 24 as well as Advocate, Supreme Court of Bangladesh &SaeedAhsan Khalid, Assistant Professor, Department of Law, University of Chittagong. Honorable guest speakers exhibited a crystal view of the opportunities for law students in professional career before the participants as well as provided accessory tips, techniques and directions regarding how to grab those opportunities.
The next session was of mutual session between the panel speakers & the participants of the workshop. The session was repleted with the presence of highly qualified professional personalities of Legal Field.

The Senior Assistant Secretary of Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Division, Ministry of Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs, MasomaZaman, Assistant Director (Legal) of Bangladesh Bank Mr. JahedHoshen, Deputy Secretary of Finance ministry, TonimaTasnim, Senior ASP, Immigration In-Charge of HazratShahjalal International Airport, Mansur AlamKaderi, Lieutenant of JAG Branch ofBangladesh Navy, MrFaruqul Islam, Metropolitan Magistrate of Chittagong, Mr. Mohammad Al Imran Khan (A I Khan) & two advocates of Bangldesh Supreme Court, Barrister Suhan Khan and Mr. MokarramusShaklan appeared as the panel speakers before the participants in that session. The respected panel speakers presented a short speech on & about their profession with necessary direction towards the presence &, after the completion of the speeches, microphone was left open for the participants to place the queries before the speakers. The curious asking minded participants placed their queries & got the satisfactory information from the speakers there. Then the sessions came to conclusion.
The inauguration ceremony was chaired by the Dean of Faculty of Law, University of Chittagong, Prof A B M Abu Noman while Vice Chancellor of Chittagong University, Professor Dr. IftekharUddinChowdhury ornamented the ceremony as Chief Guest as well as Christine Richardson, Chairman & Associate Professor of Department of Land Law & Management, Jagannath University and Md. MasdarHossain, Senior District & Sessions Judge (Retd) facilitated the ceremony as special guest.
However, upon the whole day performance, one of the participants awarded as the best performer of the workshop & certificate of participation gave to all the participants of the workshop.
