Shooting and killing is not the way to win in Afghanistan

A MASSIVE truck bomb that ripped through the secured diplomatic zone at Kabul – killing at least 90 people while wounding more than 450 on last Wednesday has come as a renewed shock to the World as Muslims start fasting in the holy month of Ramzan for self-purification and self-restraint. It was one of the deadliest explosions to have hit the Afghan capital since last year and even by intensity one of the biggest since 2001. The war in Afghanistan is going on over the past few decades with Soviet Communist occupation and later with the arrival of the US to oust the Soviets; but falling into the traps of the Talibans that the USA had created for the propose. Since then there is no win, no defeat in both sides while innocent people are dying in attacks as the war sees no end in sight.
We mourn the killing of so many people and express our sympathy to the victims and their families. What is shocking is that the attacker did not hesitate to kill innocent people in the fasting month who have no enemies in city streets. It just shows Afghan militants in the guise of religious identities have totally lost their values as human beings in carrying out beast like attacks only to spread terrors and show their presence fighting the Afghan government and its Western allies. The fact is that such killing may continue but will never end the war when Afghanistan needs peace now more than anytime in the past.
It is admitted the West is conducting the war the easy way. They are using their superior fire power to kill people indiscriminately without caring much about the need of correct intelligence to avoid death of innocent ones. Both sides are fighting a ruthless war of killing. Afghan people want to be saved from Taliban. But to fight Taliban the West has to be sure of who are attacked and who are killed.
