High powered Enquiry Commission needed –Barrister Mainul

In my mind trial of Narayanganj killing case is not urgent for the nation. What is of foremost importance for our safety and security is to dig out the whole truth about the involvement of all those with the crimes of abductions and killings occurring all over the country. These crimes are politically connected and people have no faith that the real culprits will be brought to justice. Our future safety and security depends on seeing that truth could not be suppressed so the demand should be for constituting a high powered Enquiry Commission. The above observations were made by Barrister Mainul Hosein on Thursday night in a television talk show of Banglavision channel hosted by Mr Mostafa Feroj and the other participants were Mr Badiul Alam Majumder, Major General (Retd.) Abdur Rashid and Mr Mahmudur Rahman Manna. In another context he asserted that to be worthy citizens of a free country we cannot remain silent about the weakness of our political leaders and must help the country going in the right way.Barrister Mainul explained it was against the interest of the armed forces and the nation to induct their members for the civilian duty of maintaining law and order on a regular basis. They should have been used for a special task for certain limited period. Members of the armed forces whose names were mentioned as involved with the horrendous crimes should be available along with others for investigation.According to him by fighting private terrorism the wrong way the government has spread terrorism all over the country. The law enforcing personnel are engaged in killing people for money. In answer to another question Barrister Mainul explained that everywhere democracy is protected by educated people and our educated ones will have to come forward unitedly against the failed government. They must insist on democratization of party politics. Mere election will not make democracy work. We need both democratization of party politics and inclusive election for legitimacy of the government.
