Furniture Fair begins today

A 7-day Furniture Fair will begin in the port city from today( Wednesday ) with a view to promoting the sector both locally and internationally.Chittagong mayor AJM Nasir Uddin is scheduled to inaugurate the fair formally on Wednesday at GEC Convention Centre in the city.
 This was disclosed by Maksudur Rahman, convener of furniture fair committee at a press conference held at Chittagong Press Club on Monday..
Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) President Mahbubul Alam Talukdar and Chittagong Customs (Import) Commissioner Syed Golam Kibria will also be present as special guest in the inaugural function, he added.
Maksudur Rahman, also central joint secretary of Bangladesh Furniture Industry Owners’ Association, informed the journalists that 40 leading furniture companies including Brothers, JMG, Legacy, VIP, Freedom, Vegas will take part in the fair to display their products. He said the fair will remain open to all from 10am to 9pm.
Member secretary of the fair committee MN Azam Khan, Chairman of Chittagong Events Mohammad Sahab Uddin, Chief Co-ordinator of the fair committee Manjurul Islam Raihan and fair committee members M Naser, Syed Iftekhar Uddin, among others, were present at the press conference.
