Huge foreign wine recovered from fishing trawler

Chittagong Bureau :
Detective Branch police of Chittagong Metropolitan police recovered huge foreign wine from a fishing trawler MV Mavia from Karnaphuli river near Feringhee Bazar area on Saturday morning .
 Acting on secret information, DB police searched the fishing trawler and recovered 450 bottles of whisky of different brand and 410 cans beers worth about Tk.20 lakh, police sources said.
 Asstt Police Commissioner of DB, Kamruzzaan confirmed the matter to this reporter. Sensing the presence of law enforcers forces in the river, the fishermen and crews escaped the trawler quickly keeping it in the river.
Police could not arrest any one in this connection. Police found the trawler without any sailors and others. The identity of the trawler’s owner yet to be identified.
