‘Pratipakkho’ staged at RU

Anushilon Natya Dal, a theatre troupe of Rajshahi University, staged its 52nd produced drama ‘Pratipakkho’ in the campus on Wednesday.
 The play, written and directed by Professor Moloy Bhoumik, was staged at Kendrio Shaheed Minar Muktu Manchaw of Rajshahi University at 4:00pm to the honour of language martyrdoms of our country.
 The drama depicts the sufferings of general people for those countrywide hartal days enforced by the different political organisation at different times.
 The story is set on a train which was compelled to stop and not to move forward for the day long strike. In the meantime, the firing between two political groups began and a child was shot. When one group was informed that a child has been shot, they directed its leaders to snatch the corpse of the child.
 As the child was alive still then, his parents tried to hide the child. But the leaders snatched the child and returned to strike again, and also called blocked again protesting the child death though the child was alive still then. At last the child died.
 In another scene, a youth was going to hospital on the train after collecting money for his mother operation. The leaders of the political groups snatched the money from him and his mother died without any treatment.
 The play ended through asking as question that people from all walks of life participated in our liberation war for an independent country, but what are happening still now; are we independent?
Among others, Prof Moloy Bhoumik, Ripon Ghosh, Sarfaraz Khan, Tanzida Nahar, Nobin, Orko, Limon performed in various role in the play.
