Crown: The largest cement exporter in Bangladesh

The story of Crown Cement dates back 22 years in December 1994 when M.I.Cement Factory Limited started its journey with the commitment of providing high quality cement to Bangladesh. With the passage of time, crown cement has won great goodwill both at home and abroad.
Initially, the plant was installed with a capacity of producing 600 TPD (ton per day) of Portland cement. With the passage of time the demand of crown cement increased and the sponsors have been compelled to expand the project thrice. The production capacity of Crown cement plant has increased almost ten times to 5,800 TPD or 1.740 million metric ton per annum.
Listed in both Dhaka Stock Exchange and Chittagong Stock Exchange, Crown cement has won shareholders and investors trust. Crown Cement Company has acquired a handy max size ocean going ship to facilitate transportation of raw materials from abroad. Crown Cement pioneered in export of cement in 2003 and paved the way for earening hard-earned foreign currency. Crown Cement has achieved the National Export Tropy (Gold) twice for attaining the top most position among the cement exporters in Bangladesh. Located at West Mukterpur, Munshiganj on the bank of the Dhaleswari, Crown Cement’s factory is connected by waterways and a metallic road (Dhaka Munshiganj Highway) linked with the whole country.
Crown is Bangladesh’s largest cement exporter. Its major export market is the northeastern states of India including Tripura, Meghalaya, eastern and western regions of Assam. The company has won National Export Trophy (Gold) for two consecutive years of 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 for its extraordinary contribution to the country’s economy through foreign currency earnings. Crown deserves credit for being the pioneer in cement exporting from Bangladesh.
Crown cement is produced in close circuit Japanese technology. The entire production system is computerised. It ensures consistent quality control at every stage of production. Its plant is well supported by a powerful in-house modern laboratory with the latest state-of-the-art equipment for quality control and continuous improvement in the products.
In addition to the well-equipped and furnished chemical and physical laboratory, Crown has highly qualified foreign trained chemists and technicians with long experience in the field of cement.
The newest venture of Crown Cement is the procurement of an ocean going mother vessel with DWT capacity of 46604 MT. It was built in Japan in the year 1999 and after procurement it has been named as CROWN VOYAGER. It is the youngest vessel in Bangladeshi fleet and is equipped with most modern equipment and facilities. The vessel will add new dimension to the company’s timely transportation of raw materials from overseas countries resulting in uninterrupted production.
