The Under-19 World Cup Cricket suffers from attendance crisis mainly due to poor advertisement. Even the match between hosts Bangladesh and the defending champions South Africa witnessed a few thousand spectators, which surprised the cricket experts.
Crowd crisis marks fall of popularity of the particular discipline. Cricket is taken to be the most popular sport in Bangladesh for the last few years, but the picture in the underway-11th edition of the World Youth Cricket championship is fearing. Not a single match had spectators.
The critics think that the Bangladesh Cricket Board should take steps to bring spectators in the stadium.

Save Badminton
In our boyhood, we found our seniors to play badminton in the winter season. The students of schools, colleges and universities were very fond of this game. Tournaments were held in almost every thana attended by a large gathering. I remember when I was a student of Shahzadpur High School in the district of Sirajganj, we played and never missed any competition.
I did it also at Nawab Abdul Latif Hall of Rajshahi University. But with the passage of time, badminton began to lose popularity in Bangladesh although we find reversed picture in the rest of the world. About 13 super series badminton competitions are held every year across the globe. Besides, there are more than forty international shows yearly taken part by the leading badminton players from different countries.
Our neighbour India have surged ahead, but we have fallen back due to absence of planning and application. India have produced super Saina Nehwal, but we cannot. So, may we request the Bangladesh Badminton Federation to take care of he game to instill new life.
