President of Chittagong Chamber of Commerce & Industry Md. Mahbubul Alam have called upon the concerned authority to meet the ongoing gas crisis in the port city through increased supply of gas from national grid.
The city dwellers are the worst sufferersof gas for the last 5 days. CCCI Presient sent a urgent fax message to Energy Advisor Dr. Towfiq Elahi, State Minister NasrulHamid and Petrobangla Chairman Ishtiaq Ahmed in this connection.
The urgent message was told that the productions in industrial sectors are being hampered maximum extents and theexports of RMG products also hampering in due time . Moreover, the domesticusers, hotel and restaurants are also the worst sufferers of gas crisis.
Healso mentioned that the power generation in Raozan Thermal power plant and Shikalbaha Power Plant is badly affected lack of gas supply.
Chamber president also mentioned that lack of adequate gas supply year after years than the total requirement , the conditions of industrial sectors became worst lead to closures.
The CCCI President urged the concerned authorities to mitigate the ongoing gas crisis in the prime commercial hub of the country and the second largest city, sources said.
