Security has been tightened in the port city as elsewhere in the district centring the upholding the verdict of International War Crimes Tribunal by the Supreme Court Appellate Division over the review pleas of BNP Standing Committee Member Salahuddin Quader Chowdhury and the Jamaat Secretary General Ali Ahsan Md. Mojaheed declared yesterday.
Meanwhile, Gonojaran Mancha, Chittagong unit expressed satisfaction over the upholding of death penalty to BNP leader Salahuddin Quader and the Jamaat leader Mojaheed and brought out jubiliant procession in the city yesterday afternoon.
People irrespective of religions and opinions joint the procession. Sweetmeat also distributed among the participants of the procession, a sources said.
A sources of Rangunia, home constituency of Salahuddin Quader said the local leaders of Awami league and its front organizations brought out jubilant procession with the dismissal of review petitions of Salahuddin and Mujahid by appellate court. No unwanted incidents occurred by the supporters of Salahuddin Quader in Raozan, Rangunia and FAtikchari constituency yet to be reported till writing this report. Mentionable that Salahuddin Quader was elected Member of Parliament from these three constituencies earlier.
Chittagong Metropolitan Police sources said additional lawenforcers have been deployed in the city area to avoid any unwanted incidents recently. CMP installed check-posts at important city points at the estuary of entry points of city. Law enforcers are searching the suspected persons while entering in the city.At every points of city, law enforcers are checking buses, minibuses, auto rickshaws, motorbikes. Additional police deployed infront of Salahuddin’s residence in city and village home Raozan, Chittagong Pathergatha church, Gohira Kundeswari Mandir area for stern security measures.
Meanwhile Prafullah Ranjan Singh, son of war victims Nuturn Chandra singh expressed satisfaction over the upholding of WC verdict of death penalty to Salahuddin quader for killing his father during liberation war by the rajakar bahini with his leadership.
He said the upholding of death penalty, is the victory of humanity and he want immediate execution of the death row convict Salahuddin.
 He said a police check-post is set up infront of his residence in Gohira Kundeswari Bhaban. CMP sources said four platoons of BGB deployed in the city and two platoons of BGB also deployed in each thana of Chittagong .
