19 injured as picnic-bus plunges to ditch

A Madaripur- bound reserved bus carrying college student’s picnic-party plunged to roadside ditch on Kuakata-Patuakhali road Saturday morning.
Tarekuzzaman, Kalapara Police Station in charge, said the bus of Turan Paribahon (Dhaka-Metro-Ba-14-4466) carrying a picnic party of about 45 youths, mostly students of Madaripur Government Nazimuddin College, reached Kuakata on Friday. After enjoying picnic they left Kuakata and the bus plunged to a roadside ditch after the driver lost control over the vehicle at Rajopara under Kalapara upazila at about 8:00 am Saturday, the OC told.
Local people and police rushed to the spot started rescue operation.
