New youth-led political party to debut as ‘National Citizen Party’

A new political party – initiated by the National Citizens Committee and Students Against Discrimination (SAD) – has finalised its name as the “National Citizen Party (NCP),” and will be officially launched on Friday.

A joint meeting was held on Thursday at the central office of the National Citizen Committee in the city’s Banglamotor. During the meeting, several key decisions were made. Four senior leaders of the National Citizen Committee, who attended the discussion, confirmed the finalised name of the party and the leadership positions.

Nahid Islam has been appointed as the convener, and Akhtar Hossain will serve as the general secretary of the youth-led political party.

Additionally, Hasnat Abdullah has been appointed as the chief organiser for the southern region, Sarjis Alam as the chief organiser for the northern region, and Nasiruddin Patwary as the chief coordinator.
