Former coordinators of Students Against Discrimination on Wednesday formed a new political student organisation, “Bangladesh Gonotantrik Chhatro Sangsad.”
The organisation was formally launched at a press conference at the Madhur Canteen of Dhaka University on Wednesday afternoon, announcing Abu Baker Majumder as the central convener of the new student organisation.
In addition, Zahid Ahsan has been declared as the general secretary, while Tahmid Al Mudassir has taken on the role of chief organiser, and Ashrefa Khatun has been named as the spokesperson of this new organisation.
Meanwhile, Abdul Kader has been appointed as the convenor of the Dhaka University unit with Mahir Alam as the general secretary, Hasib Al Islam as the chief organiser, and Rafiya Rehnuma Hridi as the spokesperson.
On 17 February, several coordinators of the Students Against Discrimination held a press conference at the Madhur Canteen and announced plans to form this student organisation following a two-day public opinion survey, breaking away from the original group.
