The newly formed Public Service Commission (PSC) has cancelled the oral examination for the 44th BCS. Moreover, the PSC has made significant decisions regarding the 45th and 46th BCS exams.
Public Relations Officer of PSC Matiur Rahman confirmed the matter in a press release on Monday night.
According to the commission’s decision, the oral examination for the 44th BCS has been cancelled, the answer sheets for the 45th BCS will be sent to a third examiner for evaluation, and the PSC will reissue the preliminary results for the 46th BCS.
The oral examination for the 44th BCS, which began on May 8, 2024, was suspended on August 25. Before being postponed twice, 3,930 candidates had participated in the oral exam, while a total of 11,732 candidates were scheduled to take part.
Due to the cancellation of this exam, those who passed the written test will have to appear for the oral exam again. The PSC’s notice stated that the new date for the oral exam will be announced “soon.”
The PSC has decided to re-evaluate the written exam answer sheets for the 45th BCS, which was announced on November 30, 2022. The results for this exam, which concluded in January 2024, have yet to be published.
Meanwhile, the 46th BCS gazette was released on November 30, 2023, and the preliminary exam was held on April 26, 2024. A total of 10,638 candidates passed the preliminary exam on May 9.
These candidates, along with an equal number of new qualifiers, will now be considered eligible for the written exam. The results for the previously selected 10,638 candidates will remain valid, and the PSC will reissue the results, including the new qualifiers.
