Late lyricist, producer and director Gazi Mazharul Anwar made a short film about Khaleda Zia 11 years ago. Actress Nipun Akter played the role of Khaleda Zia in the short film titled ‘Aposhheen’.
Producer and actor Helal Khan said that he wants to make the movie in a new and bigger format. Not Nipun, someone else will act in this movie. Everything will be fine subject to Khaleda Zia’s permission. So, now there is no possibility of the release of ‘Aposhheen’, he said.
At the end of 2013, Gazi Mazharul Anwar made ‘Aposhheen’ based on Khaleda Zia’s political life. Nipun played the role of Khaleda Zia and
Helal Khan acted the role of former president Ziaur Rahman in the short film.
But in the end the movie did not see the light of day. After the fall of the Awami League government, the movie was discussed again.
Son of Gazi Mazharul Anwar, Sarfaraz Anwar Upal told this correspondent, “It was produced as a short film. Produced by Helal Khan, the movie was directed by Gazi Mazharul Anwar. We know nothing about its release. Producer Helal Khan can say well about this movie.”
When Helal Khan was contacted, he said that he has no plans for the release of the movie at the moment. If he gets permission from Khaleda Zia, he wants to make the movie again in a bigger arrangement.
Helal Khan told this correspondent, “I started working on the movie ‘Aposhheen’ in 2013. We could not do many things at that time. It was shown to Madam (Khaleda Zia) once after its making. She was very happy. Then the previous government closed the movie. I was also arrested.
So could not release the movie. It’s still that way. I can’t tell who made the news of this movie suddenly, why. I don’t want to talk about this movie without talking to Madam.”
Regarding talking about making ‘Aposhhen’ in new way, Helal Khan said, “The movie is about the political life of Khaleda Zia. A lot has changed now. As I thought 10 years ago, it will not be the same. After that, many things happened in Khaleda Zia’s life. Now if I want to release the previous work, then it will be an incomplete work.
It must be remade.”
Helal Khan also said, “If Madam allows, only then will the new ‘Aposhheen’ be created. As she will give instructions, the work should be done in the same way. She was sick and did not have the opportunity to talk about this.
If I do the new work, it will be a big event. The movie’s canvas will grow, and changes will come in the case of performers. Nipun played the role of Khaleda Zia; there are plans to cast someone else in the new movie.
Besides, there will be changes in the case of other performers.”
