A local leader of BNP was chopped to death by unknown miscreants at Khidirpur village in Kendua upazila on Wednesday night.
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Ali, 45, president of Sandikona union unit of BNP.
Police said, a gang of miscreants attacked Mohammad Ali and chopped him indiscriminately on his way back
home from a local bazar, leaving him dead on the spot. On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
