The Netherlands cricket team, which came to Bangladesh to play a three-match T20 series, has reached Sylhet. They arrived at Sylhet Osmani International Airport on a Biman flight today (August 27) at noon.
Earlier, the team arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 8:40 am. This is the first time that the Netherlands has come to Bangladesh to play a bilateral series.
All the matches of the series will be played at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. Earlier, the Bangladesh team went to Sylhet. Liton Dasara has been preparing there since August 20.
The Bangladesh team was supposed to play a three-match ODI and an equal number of T20 matches against India in August. But the BCCI canceled the tour after not getting the green signal from the government. Although Bangladesh did not have any international matches for about a month and a half before the Asia Cup. In this situation, the Netherlands came to Bangladesh to play the three-match series, responding to the BCB’s invitation.
The visiting team’s cricketers will rest today after reaching Sylhet. They are scheduled to practice at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Thursday evening and the day after tomorrow afternoon.
The Bangladesh-Netherlands series will begin on August 30 with the first T20I. The next two matches will be held on September 1 and 3. All matches will be held at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, with the game starting at 6 pm.
It is worth noting that the Bangladesh team went to Sylhet on August 20 as a preparation for this series and the Asia Cup. Liton Dasara has also practiced for ten days in Dhaka before. Their Asia Cup mission will begin with a match against Hong Kong on September 11.
