Netflix is going to own Warner Bros, the oldest and most popular studio in Hollywood.
It was officially announced on Friday that Netflix is buying Warner Bros. Discovery’s TV, studio and streaming business for $72 billion.
Through this, popular platforms like HBO and HBO Max will also come under Netflix’s control.
Netflix is currently the most powerful company in streaming world, and if this deal is implemented, the balance of power in Hollywood will tilt even more towards this platform.
Warner Bros has announced that it has initially decided that the company will split into two parts starting next year. One part of Warner will be acquired by Netflix.
The other part, Discovery Global, will include CNN and other channels.
