News Desk :

The wedding of Avner Netanyahu, the younger son of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has been postponed due to growing tensions and security concerns stemming from the ongoing conflict with Iran.Avner was scheduled to marry his longtime partner, Amit Yardeni, on Monday, June 16, at the upscale Ronit Farm near Tel Aviv.
The high-profile event was to host several hundred guests by personal invitation from Avner himself but notably excluded politicians, ministers, or members of the Knesset.
Israeli media outlet The Times of Israel reported on Saturday that the decision to postpone the wedding came after Iran launched a series of retaliatory missile and drone attacks on Israel, following an unprecedented Israeli strike on Iranian military and nuclear sites just a day earlier.
The escalation triggered nationwide air raid sirens and pushed civilians to seek shelter, prompting the Israeli government to declare emergency security measures.Avner’s wedding was to be held in Kibbutz Yakum, about 30 km north of Tel Aviv, where extensive security preparations were already in place. Authorities had even announced a temporary closure of airspace within a 1.5-kilometre radius of the venue for the day of the event.
However, given the heightened threat of Iranian missile attacks and the country’s tense security situation, the Netanyahu family was compelled to postpone the wedding.
The planned wedding had already drawn criticism from opposition figures and sections of the public, who accused the Netanyahu family of preparing for a lavish celebration while dozens of Israeli hostages remained in captivity in Gaza.
Critics labeled it a tone-deaf move amid ongoing national crisis. With the conflict between Israel and Iran showing no signs of de-escalation, it remains unclear when the wedding will be rescheduled.
