NN Online:
The National Citizen Party (NCP) will officially unveil its much-anticipated “New Bangladesh Manifesto” tomorrow (Sunday, August 3) at the Central Shaheed Minar in Dhaka.
The announcement was made via the party’s verified Facebook page on Saturday, calling on citizens to join what it described as a “historic moment.”
“Tomorrow, the manifesto for a new Bangladesh will be declared at the Central Shaheed Minar. We will see you there at this turning point in history,” read the post.
NCP Convener Nahid Islam earlier urged people from all walks of life to attend, saying the event will center around justice for the martyrs of the July movement, proposed national reforms, and the party’s vision for a new Bangladesh.
The rally comes at the close of the party’s month-long “July March to Rebuild the Nation” campaign, during which NCP leaders toured towns, villages, and cities across Bangladesh. They engaged with citizens—workers, farmers, day labourers, homemakers, and others—to hear their concerns and gather ideas for shaping the nation’s future.
NCP said tomorrow’s rally will not only feature the declaration of the manifesto but will also mark the next phase of action in support of implementing the July Proclamation and the National Charter.
The date and venue carry added significance—it was on August 3 last year at the same location that the party announced its one-point demand for the resignation of the Hasina government.
NCP said Convener Nahid Islam will present the key takeaways from their national campaign, laying out the party’s promises and roadmap for a “new Bangladesh.”
The party has called for the participation of members and supporters from all 64 districts and directed its district and upazila-level coordination committees to ensure smooth execution of the programme.
“The 3rd of August is set to be a historic day for Bangladesh,” the NCP said in its statement.
