Within just six months of joining the National Citizens Party (NCP), Dr. Kamrul Islam Dorpon, the party’s Member Secretary for Nilphamari district, has become a key political figure in local discussions.
The party’s Northern Region Chief Coordinator, Md. Sarjis Alam, has nominated him as a potential candidate for the Nilphamari-2 (Sadar) constituency in the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election.
“I am hopeful of contesting the next national election as an NCP candidate,” said Dr. Dorpon.
“I have already been visiting different areas regularly, meeting voters, and conducting public outreach activities.”He added, “I have always stood by the people and will continue to do so.
If the people support me, it will be possible to defeat BNP and Jamaat and secure a landslide victory.”The Nilphamari-2 constituency has approximately 371,000 registered voters.
District NCP Joint Member Secretary and prominent local businessman Saiful Islam Bullet said, “Dr. Kamrul Islam is a compassionate social worker.
For nearly two decades, he has been providing low-cost medical services to the poor and underprivileged in Nilphamari.
He also established Nagarik Hospital, which offers quality healthcare at affordable rates.”
District NCP Convener Abdul Majid stated, “Dr. Kamrul Islam Dorpon, a respected physician, enjoys widespread support from people across the district.
I am confident he will win from Nilphamari-2 in the upcoming election, Inshallah.”Local sources said Dr. Dorpon’s growing popularity stems from his contributions to healthcare and his modest lifestyle.
Political analysts believe he could become a strong contender representing the NCP in the next general election.
