The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has failed to reach the revenue collection target in the first month of the 2025-26 year fiscal by Tk 2,861.96 crore.
The target was Tk 30,110 crore while the collection is Tk 27,249 crore.
The collection, however, is 24.33 percent higher than the same period of the last 2024-25 fiscal, when economic activities were severely disrupted amid July movement.
According to the NBR data, the Customs Wing collected Tk 9,602 crore against a target of Tk 10,149.73 crore while the VAT Wing, however, exceeded its target, collecting Tk 11,352 crore against Tk 10,749.48 crore.
The Income Tax Wing collected Tk 6,295 crore against its Tk 9,211.75 crore target.
