Nazrul Academy observes the Poet’s birth anniversary

On the occasion of 115th birth anniversary of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, Nazrul Academy organised a three-day programme at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy recently.
For the first time, Nazrul Academy also marked the 43rd anniversary of Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra as a part of its programmes.
Nazrul Academy gave Nazrul Padak 2014 to noted Nazrul singer and exponent MA Manna for his outstanding contribution in the filed of Nazrul Sangeet in the country.
Therefore, cover of the Nazrul Academy publication was also unveiled during this three-day event.
On the opening day of the programme, granddaughter of Kazi Nazrul Islam Khilkhil Kazi, research, publication and international affairs secretary of Nazrul Academy M Mizanur Rahman, singers of Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra Mala Khurram, Sujeyo Shyam, Abdul Jabbar, Kamal Lohani, Mustafa Zaman Abbasi, Dr Ashraf Siddiqui, Prof Md Nurul Huda, Engr M Atiqur Rahman, among others, spoke.
Meanwhile, noted Nazrul singers, students and teachers of Nazrul Academy performed music and dance in the programme.
Next two days were also featured by the performances of Nazrul singers and dance artistes. n
