Dr Naznin Hasan Chumki, the popular actress who won the National Film Award, was on a shooting break for several days. This talented actress has returned to work after a break from shooting. She returned to work by shooting for Deepto TV’s ongoing drama serial ‘Dena Pawna’.
Chumki is playing the role of ‘Afsana’, one of the most important characters of this serial.
As this serial is a daily serial of Deepto TV, due to various problems it became necessary to start the production of the serial again.
So, the shooting of ‘Dena Pawna’ serial started again.
Chumki informed that apart from the work of this series, she has completed the work of two dramas written by Ayon Chowdhury and directed by Amlan Biswas.
But Chumki also said that Golam Moktadir Shan started the first production of ‘Dena Pawna’ serial. Now Ashish Roy is directing the serial.
Regarding talking about acting in the serial, Chumki told this correspondent, “I have been getting good response for acting in ‘Dena Pawna’ serial from the beginning. Shooting of the serial was stopped for some time due to the prevailing situation in the country. Since ‘Dena Pawna’ is an ongoing daily serial, it became imperative to shoot it. We have already participated in its shooting. However, Golam Moktadir Shan was the director. Ashish Roy is now the director of the serial. And I have already acted in two wonderful stories based dramas directed by Amlan Biswas. I am very optimistic about both dramas because I am a producer and playwright myself. So, I understand the story quite well. That’s why I said Amlan Biswas’s two dramas were quite good.”
Meanwhile, a few days ago, Chumki obtained a doctorate degree. She obtained her PhD degree from Jahangirnagar University’s Department of Drama and Dramatics. Her research topic was “Child Theatre Practice of Bangladesh (1991-2010).”
Chumki said that this is very happy news for her. She had to go through a long journey for it. This is one of the achievements of her life, especially her close people and well-wishers are happy from her heart to get this degree.
Hailed from Chuadanga, Chumki was involved in the Arindam cultural organisation in Chuadanga.
Chumki came to Dhaka for higher education in 1996 and got admission in Jagannath College (now Jagannath University).
Later in 1999, Chumki made her debut on the small screen through drama titled ‘Jete Jete Obosheshe’. The director of the drama was Ananta Hira.
