NN Online:
Thousands of leaders and activists from three associate wings of the BNP — Jubo Dal, Swechchhasebak Dal, and Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal — have converged at Nayapaltan to join a major youth rally.

Participants have traveled from various districts, including Dhaka, Sylhet, Faridpur, and Mymensingh, to support the event, said Swechchhasebak Dal President SM Jilani. Organizers expect the turnout to exceed 1.5 million young people.

The rally has already led to severe traffic congestion in several key areas of Dhaka, including Shahbagh, Nayapaltan, Kakrail, Motijheel, Moghbazar, Shantinagar, Malibagh, Bijoynagar, and Fakirapool.

BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman will address the rally virtually as the chief guest. He is expected to present the party’s political vision and future roadmap, aimed at inspiring the country’s youth.

Senior BNP leaders, including Standing Committee members Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Abdul Moyeen Khan, Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, and Salahuddin Ahmed, are also scheduled to speak at the event.

Reflecting on the momentum gained from previous rallies, Jilani said, “We saw overwhelming participation from youths in Chattogram, and our programs in Khulna and Bogura were also great successes. We believe the Dhaka rally will break all previous records.”

“Young people are eager to join,” he continued. “With their spontaneous support, they aim to voice their key demand — the restoration of democracy and voting rights, which they’ve been denied for the past 17 years.”

He emphasized that the rally marks a significant step forward in the ongoing movement, led by Tarique Rahman, to reclaim the electoral rights of the youth.
