Manikganj Correspondent :
Even though 5 months have passed since the Ministry of Education sent a letter to take necessary measures against the headmaster of the Nayabari High School in Shibalaya Upazila, investigating various allegations including money embezzlement, many questions have arisen in the concerned circles. The letter signed by the Senior Assistant Secretary of Secondary and Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education Mohammad Tauhidul Islam was sent on January 30 this year, but the school inspector of the Dhaka Education Board and the concerned officials did not take action, and the accused head teacher continues to continue his misdeeds.
It is known that the official of the Ministry of Education has sent a letter to take action against Nayabari High School Headmaster Md. After receiving the letter, the chairman of the Board of Secondary and Higher Education directed the school inspector to take further action. The school inspector has received a letter from Shibalaya Upazila Secondary Education Officer of Manikganj to take necessary measures, but no action has been taken even after 5 months.
It is said in the complaint that for the last 8 years, there is no full-fledged committee-SMC for the management of the school. There is no rule to form Adhoc committee more than twice. Despite this, there are 10 consecutive attempts to form such a committee. In the said order, measures have been taken to investigate the various irregularities-corruption, extreme arbitrariness and financial scams of the headmaster of the school. Besides, in the letter, clear instructions have been given to exclude the name of the chairman of the ad hoc committee proposed by the head teacher and include the Upazila Nirbahi Officer as the chairman. At present, as there is no ad hoc committee, the signature of the Upazila Nirbahi Officer is required to withdraw the government portion of the salaries and allowances of teachers and employees. However, the teachers and staff of the school are living in trouble as they are not getting any money.
In spite of this, there has been anger among the students-teachers-parents and conscious circles due to not taking effective steps including forming a full committee, investigating the complaint against the head teacher.
Upazila Secondary Education Officer Md. Abul Khair told that due to various engagements including teacher training, investigation activities could not be undertaken in view of the said letter. But action will be taken soon.
