Chief Adviser Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus has emphasised the interim government’s commitment to equipping young job seekers with essential skills through diverse training programmes, including in information and communication technology (ICT).

Delivering a message to mark National Youth Day 2025, which coincides with International Youth Day, Dr Yunus extended his warm greetings to the youth of Bangladesh and the wider world. This year’s theme, “Technology-based Youth Force, Progress in Multilateral Partnership,” reflects the crucial role of young people in fostering a more sustainable, equitable, and innovative future through international cooperation.

As part of the celebrations, youth loans amounting to Tk 47.26 crore will be distributed to 4,985 recipients across the country. The National Youth Award will also honour outstanding contributions to youth development at both national and divisional levels.

Professor Yunus highlighted that young people constitute one-third of Bangladesh’s population and have historically played a pioneering role in the nation’s progress. Activities at the National Institute of Youth Development in Savar have been expanded to promote leadership, creativity, empowerment, and employment opportunities.

The government is providing collateral-free loans with increased ceilings to trained youth for self-employment ventures. Alongside job-oriented and modern training, efforts are underway to enhance overseas employment prospects.

Expressing optimism, the Chief Adviser hoped that the National and International Youth Day celebrations would inspire continued commitment to empowering young people, realising their aspirations, and contributing to the building of a new Bangladesh. He conveyed his best wishes for the success of the initiatives undertaken on this occasion.
